Top Five Reasons to Read Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon

It’s been a really long time since we’ve posted or done anything on the blog, but you all have continued to take a look. So for that, thank you! You all are amazing. It’s been a tough few months between working on self-care, adjusting to new jobs, trying to juggle two jobs at one point, and the possibility of moving (might not happen now). I figured one of the best ways to get back into blogging was to review one of the newest NetGalley ARCs I read. Just a reminder that all opinions are my own, and many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC to read.

Title: Weather Girl
Author: Rachel Lynn Solomon
Publication date: January 11, 2022
Publisher: Berkley Romance
Pages: 352

Goodreads Summary

Ari Abrams has always been fascinated by the weather, and she loves almost everything about her job as a TV meteorologist. Her boss, legendary Seattle weatherwoman Torrance Hale, is too distracted by her tempestuous relationship with her ex-husband, the station’s news director, to give Ari the mentorship she wants. Ari, who runs on sunshine and optimism, is at her wits’ end. The only person who seems to understand how she feels is sweet but reserved sports reporter Russell Barringer.

In the aftermath of a disastrous holiday party, Ari and Russell decide to team up to solve their bosses’ relationship issues. Between secret gifts and double dates, they start nudging their bosses back together. But their well-meaning meddling backfires when the real chemistry builds between Ari and Russell.

Working closely with Russell means allowing him to get to know parts of herself that Ari keeps hidden from everyone. Will he be able to embrace her dark clouds as well as her clear skies?

Top 5 Reasons to Read

  1. Women in STEM: this has become one of my new favorite tropes/plot line (I guess it’s a trope??) to read and I’m here for it.
  2. Real and open discussions about mental health, depression, and psychiatric care.
  3. Jewish MC who discusses her struggles with religion.
  4. Single dad trope
  5. Slightly steamy (not excessively steamy for those who do not enjoy many sex scenes)

I did review Weather Girl on our Instagram as well, so if you’d like to check out that post, click here! I hope everyone has a great rest of their Wednesday! I’m currently on vacation, but will be doing a helicopter tour of the beach later, so maybe check out our Instagram for pictures from that!
