Bookish News You May Have Missed: May 30-June 5

Book Title and Cover Reveals

Scorched Earth by Danielle L. Jensen: Danielle revealed the title and cover of the final book in the Dark Shores series. She also mentioned that she will be self-publishing Scorched Earth because Tor Teen chose not to continue with the series. Be on the lookout for more information (including a release date!) in 2022.

All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir: Sabaa’s next book will be released on March 1, 2022. If you’re interested in reading the summary and adding the book to your TBR on Goodreads, here is the link. There will be more information down below on the TV show!

Silverborn by Jessica Townsend: The next book in the Nevermoor series has a title and a release month! Silverborn, the fourth book in the Nevermoor series, will be released in October of 2022. You can already preorder a copy in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

Book Clubs and Readalongs

Book Gizmo July Book Club Pick: Book Gizmo announced that the book club pick for July will be Among the Beasts and Briars by Ashley Poston. There is an accompanying booksleeve (can be viewed by clicking the hyperlink above) that is currently on sale. If you use our code ALWAYS10, you can save 10% on your order.

A Court of Books and Family Wolfsong Readalong: A Court of Books and Family (@acobaf) will be hosting a readalong of Wolfsong by TJ Klune along with @firenationcreations, @bookloverinblue, and @moonprincess37. There will be live shows to buddy read as well as a chat. You will need check the above Instagram pages to see if the chat is full as there are only 30 spots.

Signed and Exclusive Books

The Winternight Deluxe Box: FairyLoot announced that they would be doing a deluxe box for The Winternight trilogy. The box will include all three hardcover books with special features including exclusive covers, sprayed edges, custom endpapers, and foiling on the hardcover. The books will also be signed by Katherine Arden. It will cost £69.50 GBP/$99.50 USD + shipping. The subscriber presale will be July 2nd at 1:00 p.m. BST. The general sale will be July 3rd at 1:00 p.m. BST. It will be available for purchase in both the UK and US Fairy Trove.

Bonded Fate by Beck Michaels: Beck Michaels will be offering an exclusive edition of Bonded Fate. Check out this listing for the full customizations on the book (hint, there are a lot!). Only the complete box is still available for purchase. It is $80 USD plus shipping. If you’re interested in it, then hurry as there are only 5 boxes left!

Bookish Shop News

The Bookish Box’s Pride Collection: In collaboration with @heyatlascreative, The Bookish Box has created a pride collection (click here to view the collection). The collection will be available for the entire month of June, or until stock is sold out. All proceeds with be donated to charity! When you add an item from the pride collection to your cart, you will be prompted to select an organization to donate the proceeds.

Summer Solstice Box: Unplugged Book Box will be doing a Summer Solstice box this year! It includes an adult book (description can be found at the above hyperlink) and 9+ self-care items. Included fandoms are Practical Magic, A Discovery of Witches, The Bone Witch, Year of the Witching, The Dark Adventures of Sabrina, and many more. The box costs $66.99 USD plus shipping. It is currently on sale right now.

Book-to-Screen Adaptations

The Maidens TV Show: Alex Michaelides’s new release, The Maidens, has been optioned for a TV show with Miramax and Stone Village. Morwenna Banks will be the showrunner.

All My Rage TV Show: As mentioned above, Sabaa Tahir’s new standalone novel has been optioned for a TV show. There is not much information on the showrunner or which network has the rights yet. Keep your eyes peeled for more information in the coming months.
