Bookish News You May Have Missed: May 6-May 15

Book Title/Cover Reveals

Jennifer L. Armentrout revealed that book four of the Blood and Ash series will be releasing in March 2022. The title nor the cover have been revealed yet. When the title and cover are released, it will be included in our “Bookish News You May Have Missed.”

Princess of Souls by Alexandra Christo: Alexandra revealed that her next standalone YA fantasy romance will be called Princess of Souls! Keep an eye out for the cover reveal. This book will be set in the same universe as To Kill a Kingdom and will be released in the Fall of 2022.

Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer: Brigid revealed the cover for the first book in her new YA fantasy series! You can view our post about the cover reveal by clicking on the hyperlink at the beginning of this blurb. Defy the Night will be published on September 14, 2021.

House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas: SJM released the next title in the Crescent City series. It will be House of Sky and Breath and seems to have a blue theme! It will be released on January 25, 2022.

Echoes and Empires by Morgan Rhodes: Morgan Rhodes revealed that her next fantasy novel will be called Echoes and Empires! Keep an eye out for the cover reveal. There isn’t much information on the novel yet, but it will be published on January 4, 2022.

A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Saft: Allison Saft, author of Down Comes the Night, revealed the cover of her next novel, A Far Wilder Magic. The book will be published on March 8, 2022.

Curse of Shadows by A.K. Wilder: A.K. Wilder’s sequel to Crown of Bones had a cover reveal this past week! The cover is absolutely beautiful. You can view our post about the cover reveal by clicking on the hyperlink at the beginning of this blurb. Curse of Shadows will be published on January 4, 2022.

Signed/Exclusive Books

FairyLoot’s exclusive set of The Blood of Stars duology: FairyLoot will be creating an exclusive set of Spin the Dawn and Unravel the Dusk by Elizabeth Lim. Fairyloot’s The Dark Artifices deluxe set: Fairyloot announced that they will be offering a deluxe set of Cassandra Clare’s The Dark Artifices. The books will include exclusive covers, sprayed and stenciled edges, custom endpapers, ribbon bookmarks, and stamped signatures. The deluxe set will cost £69.50 GBP/$99.50 USD plus shipping. Subscribers will get early access on July 7th at 1:00 p.m. BST. The general sale will be on July 8th at 1:00 p.m. BST.

FairyLoot’s exclusive edition of The Iron Raven by Julie Kagawa: FairyLoot is offering an exclusive edition of The Iron Raven, which is the first book in a new spin-off series in the Iron Fey world (The Iron Raven will be about Puck!). The exclusive edition will feature an exclusive cover, sprayed and stenciled edges, artwork underneath the dust jacket, and exclusive, signed endpapers. The book will cost £22.50 GBP/$30.50 USD plus shipping. Subscribers will get early access on June 3rd at 1:00 p.m. BST. The general sale will be on June 4th at 1:00 p.m. BST.

Indigo’s exclusive edition of Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber: Indigo is offering an exclusive edition of Once Upon a Broken Heart! This special edition will be similar to the Barnes and Noble exclusive edition of the book. Indigo’s version will include the alternate pink cover and the bonus content, but will not be signed by Stephanie Garber (only the Barnes and Noble exclusive edition will be signed!).

The Bookish Box’s exclusive edition of Lore by Alexandra Bracken: The Bookish Box is offering an exclusive edition of Lore. The exclusive edition will feature an exclusive cover, gold sprayed edges, and will be signed by Alexandra Bracken. The book will cost $35 USD (includes US Shipping!) and will go on sale May 21st at 4:00 p.m. PST.

Readalongs/Book Clubs:

Free Your Shelf-a-Thon: For the month of June, @peekabooreads and @kellyhookedonbooks are hosting a readathon! This readathon focuses on reading books that you own so that you can free up your shelves for new books. The attached link includes more information on the readathon as well as a bingo board for participants.

Barnes and Noble’s Summer Reading Program: Barnes and Noble’s annual Summer Reading Program has begun! The Summer Reading Program is for students who are in grades 1-6. Students are asked to read eight books and once completed, may turn in their reading log to their local Barnes and Noble to receive a free book (Barnes and Noble will begin accepting completed reading logs in July). Reading logs can picked up at your local Barnes and Noble.

Bookish Shop Updates

Bookish Signs and More: Bookish Signs released their line up for the rest of the year! The June and July releases have already gone on sale. The Cruelest Mercy is no longer available, but there are a few copies of Small Favors still available. If you order any of the special editions, please mention us (alwaysbookishlovers) in the comments. Our code does not work for special editions. The next special edition that will be going on sale is Rise Up from the Embers by Sara Raasch and Kristen Simmons, which will go on sale on June 1st (you also be able to purchase Set Fire to the Gods at the same time!). We will have more information once Bookish Signs releases it.

Fae Crate’s Gods & Monsters Mini Hangover Recovery Kit: Fae Crate will be doing a hangover kit for Gods & Monsters! Included in the box will be a signed copy of Gods & Monsters, dust jackets for all the books in the series, a plushie, and 2-3 more items. The cost of the box will be $50 USD plus shipping. Half of the stock will go on sale on May 17th at 5:00 p.m. EST. The other half of the stock will go on sale on May 21st at 5:00 p.m. EST. The first date is a Jewish holiday, so Fae Crate wanted to give everyone a fair chance to get a box.

LitJoy’s Cassandra Clare Collection: LitJoy announced that their next officially licensed merchandise will be a Cassandra Clare collection. The merchandise will be released in August (August 11th for Lunacorns and August 12th for the public). The collection will include a box set of The Mortal Instruments ($245 USD) as well as 10+ other officially licensed products. LitJoy’s The Cemetery Boys pin set: LitJoy is partnering with Aiden Thomas, author of The Cemetery Boys, and the Los Angeles LGBT Center to offer a pin set inspired by The Cemetery Boys. The pin set costs $10.00 USD and if interested, can be purchased here. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

Book-to-Screen Adaptations

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera (TV Series): Entertainment One bought the rights to They Both Die at the End to turn it into a TV show! We don’t know much information about the TV show yet, but we’ll update you as we get more information.
