Bookish News You May Have Missed: April 25-May 5

We are a tad late at posting this week’s “Bookish News You May Have Missed,” so we will be including bookish news up until Wednesday, May 5. Our next posting of “Bookish News You Have Missed” will include bookish news from Thursday, May 6 to Saturday, May 15. Look for that post to appear sometime during the week of May 16th. Please note that some of the following book-related news may seem familiar as it may have already been shared in our stories on Instagram.


Cover Reveals

A Shadow in the Ember by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Jennifer has revealed the title and the cover of the first book in a new series. The series is called Flesh and Fire and is set in the same universe as Blood and Ash. A Shadow in the Ember will feature Nyktos and his Consort and will answer some questions that were left unanswered at the end of The Crown of Gilded Bones. The book will be released on October 19, 2021.

Into the Midnight Void by Mara Fitzgerald: Mara has revealed the title and the cover of the next book in her Beyond the Ruby Veil series. The book is expected to be released in January 2022.

Witchlings by Claribel A. Ortega: Claribel, author of Ghost Squad, has revealed the title and the cover for her upcoming release, Witchlings. The book is currently available for preorder and is expected to be released on February 1, 2022.

The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston: Berkley Romance will be publishing Ashley’s adult romance debut. The book is set to be released in the summer of 2022.

Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon: Rachel revealed the cover of her upcoming adult romance book, Weather Girl. The book is currently available for preorder and is set to be released on January 18, 2022.

Charm by Tracy Wolff: Entangled Teen revealed the cover for the fifth book in Tracy’s Crave series. Charm will focus on Grace and Hudson. The book is set to be released on January 4, 2022.

Signed Books/Exclusive Editions

Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber: The Barnes and Noble exclusive edition of Stephanie’s Once Upon a Broken Heart has been restocked! This edition includes an alternate, pink cover and is signed by Stephanie. Bonus content will also be included inside this edition of the book. Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong: Fairyloot will be offering an exclusive edition of Chloe’s Our Violent Ends, the sequel to These Violent Delights. This edition will be signed by Chloe and include an exclusive cover, sprayed edges, and artwork underneath the dust jacket. The book will go on sale to active subscribers and individuals who purchased Fairyloot’s November 2020 box on June 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. BST. The general public will be able to purchase the book on June 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. BST.

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair: The Bookish Box revealed the cover for their exclusive edition of Scarlett’s A Touch of Darkness. See the linked post for a list of all the customizations. The Bookish Box currently has two purchase options available on their website: books only or books with goodies.

Preorder Incentives

In the coming month, we will be creating a separate page on our blog that is devoted solely to preorder incentives. From now on, only time-sensitive preorder incentives will be included in our “Books News You May Have Missed.” We will provide you with a further update when the “Preorder Incentives” page has launched.

Readalongs/Book Clubs

ACOBAF’s Crave series Readalong: ACOBAF, @mysocalledliterarylife, and @buchanans.books are hosting a readalong for Tracy Wolff’s Crave series (Crave, Crush, and Covet). The readalong started on Thursday, May 6, and will run through the entire month of May. The linked post provides the readalong schedule as well as ACOBAF’s special, Crave-inspired sale releases.

Book Gizmo’s June Book Club pick: Crave by Tracy Wolff is Book Gizmo’s pick for her June Book Club. Audiobooks

Audiobook Sync by AudioFile Magazine: Each year, AudioFile Magazine offers free audiobooks to teens weekly, starting in April and ending in August. The hyperlink at the beginning of this blurb takes you to this week’s books. This link takes you to all of the books that will be featured. Audiobook Sync does utilize Sora (commonly used by school library systems, also owned by OverDrive), but it is free to sign-up. At the top of the page, there is a link to receive the information to sign-up.
