We’re back with another book tag! This time, we’re doing the Hamilton Book Tag, first created by Maureen Keavy on YouTube. You can click the link to check out her original video. We picked this tag because Skyler really loves Hamilton; she even has a cat named Hamilton, whom you will get to meet later on! Now, onto the questions! Just as last time, we’ll all be answering the questions.
The Room Where It Happens: Book world you would put yourself in
Danielle: I get a chance to go to Hogwarts!? Let me pack my trunk and I’ll see you at Platform 9 3/4!
Rachael: The Tea Dragon universe because I’d get a little tea dragon. They are so cute!
Skyler: Harry Potter universe! DUH.
The Schuyler Sisters: Underrated female character
Danielle: Lola Sanguick from The Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody
Rachael: Kestrel from The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Skyler: Louisa from Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
My Shot: A character that goes after what they want and doesn’t let anything stop them
Danielle: Fie from The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen
Rachael: Lou Le Blanc from Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
Skyler: Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Stay Alive: A character you wish was still alive (possible spoilers!)
Danielle: Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks (I know it’s two, but they’re kinda of a package deal!) from Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling. Remus had just found happiness and started to move on from earlier events…
Rachael: Hedwig from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling. 😦 I was so upset when Hedwig died.
Skyler: Beth from Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Burn: The most heartbreaking end to a relationship you’ve ever read
Danielle: At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks. I loved True Believer and the sequel destroyed me. I haven’t read another Nicholas Sparks’s book since.
Rachael: All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. I wanted to throw the book across the room when Violet and Finch’s relationship ended. I won’t spoil it, but I ended up hating the book.
Skyler: Normal People by Sally Rooney
You’ll Be Back: Sassiest Villain
Danielle: Malachiasz from the Something Dark and Holy series by Emily A. Duncan
Rachael: AIDAN from the Illuminae series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Can a villain be any more sassier than AIDAN? Other than Hades from Disney’s Hercules, of course.
Skyler: Red from The Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer
The Reynolds Pamphlet: A book with a twist you didn’t see coming
Danielle: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas (It was an ambitious move to have a mid-book plot twist, but it paid off! That last half of novel was AMAZING! Do not let the first half discourage you.)
Rachael: Killing November by Adriana Mather. I saw part of the plot twist coming, but not the other half. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but read it!
Skyler: The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
Non-stop: A book series you marathoned
Danielle: I tend to savor a series and wait to read sequels/the next book in the series. The closest I came to marathoning a series is the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.
Rachael: The most recent book series I marathoned is The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski.
Skyler: The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer
Satisfied: Favorite book series with multiple POVs
Danielle: I’m torn between two series: the Three Dark Crown series by Kendare Blake and the Something Dark and Holy series by Emily A. Duncan! I love books with multiple POVs – you are able to learn so much more about the individual characters.
Rachael: My two favorites lately have been Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (haven’t gotten to Aurora Burning yet) and Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin.
Skyler: I have no idea of series, but I do love Fatal Throne by Candace Fleming, M.T Anderson, Jennifer Donnelly, Stephanie Hemphill, Deborah Hopkinson, Linda Sue Park and Lisa Ann Sandell. Each author contributes a different point of view for each queen.
Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story: A book/series you feel like will be remembered throughout history
Danielle: Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling (This book series helped so many people learn about the joy of reading! Me included.)
Rachael: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab, only for the fact that the book is all about remembering, especially after Addie makes a deal with the devil.
Skyler: A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin
Helpless: A relationship you were pulling for from the very start
Danielle: Tella and Legend from the Caraval series by Stephanie Garber
Rachael: Kestrel and Arin from The Winner’s Curse
Skyler: Peter K. and Lara J. ALWAYS & FOREVER.
Ten Duel Commandments: Favorite fight scene
Danielle: House of Dragons by Jessica Cluess (Dragons are involved. Enough said.)
Rachael: I don’t really have a favorite fight scene…
Skyler: The clock scene in Catching Fire by Suzanner Collins
Say No To This: Guilty pleasure read
Danielle: I don’t have a guilty pleasure read. I read whatever I am in the mood to read.
Rachael: I don’t really like the idea of having a guilty pleasure read. Read what you want and don’t be ashamed. Everyone has different tastes.
Skyler: I don’t know. I read what I what I read.
What Comes Next: A series you wish had more books
Danielle: Once Upon A Con series by Ashley Poston. I know it’s a trilogy, but I would love to learn what happens next with my favorite Starfield fanatics (fans and cast members alike!).
Rachael: Sisters of Sword and Song by Rebecca Ross! It was a standalone, but I really just want to be immersed back in the world and learn more about all the main characters.
Skyler: Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng is a standalone that I feel could have been a duology.
Right Hand Man – Favorite BROTP
Danielle: Dorian and Chaol from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
Rachael: Ronan and Adam from The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. I’ve been spoiled on what happens between them later on, but I haven’t finished The Raven King yet. They are still BROTP until I finish The Raven King.
Skyler: Sirius and Lupin from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
What’d I Miss: A book or series you were late to reading
Danielle: Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan. I cannot believe a waited over a year to read this book!
Rachael: The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski. Danielle has been telling me to read the series for years.
Skyler: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
