Hello, all! We hope you’ve had a great weekend! For those who may not follow us on Instagram, we have planned a middle grade read-along for the month of September. This past week, we asked our followers to choose between two books: Aru Shah and the End of Time or Sal and Gabi Break the Universe. The majority (8-2) selected Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi.
Below is our schedule for reading:
- September 1-7: Chapters 1-11 (“In Which Aru Regrets Opening the Door” through “Ashes, Ashes, We All Fall Down”)
- September 8-14: Chapters 12-22 (“Bring on the Next Demon! Wait, Maybe Not…” through “Who’s a Good Boy?”)
- September 15-21: Chapters 23-33 (“Soul Index” through “I’ll Be a Cow in My Next Life”)
- September 22-28: Chapters 34-end (“The Pool of the Past” through “Woof”)
Each week, our discussions will be based on the chapters listed above, but if you aren’t able to read them, that’s okay! The discussions will be there when you have finished the readings for that particular week.
We will be discussing through a Facebook group named the Always, Bookish Lovers Book Club. You can either join by searching the name of the group or clicking the link above. Make sure to answer all membership questions as we want to get to know you better. On Fridays, discussion questions will be posted in the event that has been specifically created for the read-along. Please be mindful that there may be spoilers in the comments and/or questions. We will do our best to make sure any questions are listed under a “see more” button.
