Danielle’s May 2020 Wrap-Up

I typically read about six books a month. Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic started, however, I have found that my reading has been significantly reduced. This month I read a total of three books. Out of all the books that I read, my favorite had to be House of Dragons. If you are interested any of the books, I have linked each book’s Goodreads page.

Books Read in May:

1. Rogue Princess by B. R. Myers (ebook) – 3 out of 5 stars
2. House of Dragons by Jessica Cluess (ARC) – 4 out of 5 stars
3. The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller (ebook) – 3 out of 5 stars

In preparation for Indie Fantasy Addicts Summer Challenge 2020 (#IFASummerChallenge20) that I will be participating in June, I have also starting reading some short stories by indie authors. I have read about 22 short stories so far, and unfortunately, none of them really caught my interest.

Reading Challenges Update:
Goodreads Challenge 2020: 30 out of 50 books completed
A-to-Z Book Reading Challenge 2020: 4 out of 26 completed (G, K, P, and S); I am also in the process of revising some of my selected books because I struggle with planning books to read in advance. I am a mood reader, so I read whatever book interests at the time of selection.
Little Inklings Design Reading Challenge 2020: 19 out of 40 completed; Covers Challenge – 4/10 completed; Colors Challenge – 8 out of 12 completed
Indie Fantasy Addicts Summer Challenge 2020: begins June 1st

June’s “Tentative” TBR List: As a I mentioned above, I’m a mood reader. I’m awful at sticking to a planned reading list, but I still included a “tentative” TBR list for June. We’ll see how well I actually follow it.
1. Sanctuary by Caryn Lix
2. Sisters of Sword and Song by Rebecca Ross
3. Catherine House by Elisabeth Thomas
4. Forest of Souls by Lori M. Lee
5. Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth
6. Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
7. Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan
8. Aurora Blazing by Jessie Mihalik
9. Empress of All Seasons by Emiko Jean
10. Uprooted by Naomi Novik

What was your reading like for May? Did you read all the books that you planned? Did you make any progress on your reading challenges? What are planning to read in June? Check back next month to see Rachael and I’s reading habits for June.

Always,
Bookish Lovers
(Danielle)
