Welcome to the Always, Bookish Lovers website!

March, for most individuals, was filled with highly unusual circumstances. In what felt like a matter of hours, the public was suddenly told to quarantine themselves in order to stop the spread of COVID-19. With local public libraries and schools now closed, many are wondering how to find new books to read and/or how to teach unfamiliar content to their children.

We are here to help! Always, Bookish Lovers was created by bookish lovers who want to share bookish recommendations and resources for all age groups. Our main focus will be to provide reading resources to those parents, teachers, and other educators who may feel overwhelmed in these unprecedented times.

Our first blog series will focus on “Where Do You Find Books When Schools and Libraries Are Closed?” Below, you will find the topics that we plan to discuss in this first blog series. Expect the first post within the coming days.

  1. Where Can I Find Books in the Pandemic?
  2. Where Can I Find Children’s Literature and Middle Grade Books in the Pandemic?
  3. Books for Young Adults
  4. What Platforms have Apps? What Devices Can I Use to Access the Apps?

In the meantime, you can check out our Pinterest page, which has several reading resources already saved on it. Be sure to follow us as well! We are constantly adding new resources to the page.

If you have any questions, or even have bookish resources for us to share on the blog, then feel free to email us at

P.S. For those who are interested in learning more about us, we have included some facts about ourselves below. We want to give you an opportunity to get to know us better.

* I originally went to college with the intention of pursuing a career as an FBI Profiler upon graduation. I even majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice, but fell in love with teaching as soon as I started working at my alma mater’s Campus Learning Center.
* There are two felines that will occasionally claim me as their Cat Mom. At the end of this post, see the picture on the left. Mickey is the gray tabby and Molasses is the black cat. They’re actually very possessive of their Mom and often fight each other for her attention.
* The Harry Potter series introduced me to the joy of reading. I did not become an avid reader until after I had read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the fourth grade. At that time (i.e. the early 2000s), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire had only recently been published. The only all-nighter that I ever pulled was to finish reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I completed the novel in 14 hours after its initial release.
* My favorite novel from the Harry Potter series is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Other favorite novels include Inkheart, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and Fangirl.
* Besides the Harry Potter series, some of my other favorite series include Throne of Glass, Six of Crows, The Lunar Chronicles, The Illuminae Files, and The Expanse.

* I’m a cat mom who works as a dispatcher for my local police department.
* I have a cat named Grayson, who is a brat, but I love her dearly. A picture of her will be below. She is the orange and brown tabby on the right.
* My favorite book is Speechless by Hannah Harrington. My favorite series is the Cassidy Blake series by V.E. Schwab.
* I’m a huge fan of young adult and middle grade novels, mostly within the genres of contemporary, science fiction, and fantasy.
* I tried writing several novels when I was younger (mostly from role-playing games that I played in) and I used to write fanfiction. I’m not quite sure if you can find any of my work out there anymore. In high school, my friends and I used to write novels for each other. I think we even finished a couple of the stories.
* My favorite Disney/Pixar movie is Brave. Everyone considers her a Disney princess anyway!

We’re a sister duo and a best friend from Virginia, USA who absolutely love books! We all met while Danielle and Skyler were in college. Danielle and Skyler are teachers and Rachael is aspiring to be a librarian. As well as having a bookstagram, we co-run a blog together where we review books, post unboxings of other subscription boxes, and offer reading resources for parents and educators.
